This image is a traditional story for the Jangala, Jampitjimpa and Napitjimpa skin groups. It tells the story of two women, one Nangala and one Nampitjimpa, who were searching for water. They found a soakage which they dug up and quenched their thirst. In this time, because of their thirst they had forgotten about the dangers that lay hidden. All of a sudden a huge snake came out of nowhere and also the Nangala and Nampitjimpa women. Once the snake had swallowed the women he went into the soakage where he now sleeps. The story is a traditional Dreaming story for the area which is east of the Granites Mine inthe Northern Territory.
