Story:
There was a great deluge that wiped out the villages. the new surnames were given according to what condition the people were found in after the flood. The Wagat ancestors had taken shelter in the cave of a tiger (Wag) The Wangad ancestor had floated to safety surrounded by aubergines (wangi). The Handas are so called because their forefathers were found among pots (Handas). The Govares were spotted with a herd of cattle.
