Story:
Napanangka works with a variety of traditional and contemporary art mediums including body paintings in ochre and acrylic paint on canvas. She is a very traditional lady who understands her culture. She was born in Yuendumu and arrived in Lajamanu at 10 years of age. Her experiences of travelling through the desert and life in Lajamanu coupled with knowledge of culture is shown in her bold colours and defined style. Kitty uses a mixture of line work, coming from body art and ceremony and instinctive dot work to represent the country that surrounds her. This work represents the sand dunes at Mina Mina with an emphasis on the waterholes and soakages
