This is Sydney, New South Wales and at the heart of the painting is the Heads where the Redcoats first came through and took the land from the Aboriginal people that walked and guarded there on those sacred cliffs and and around the land now called Sydney. In this painting the trees are cleared and ancestral beings and emus rise up out of an eternal fire that burns in our memories.
In the centre of this painting there is a giant chessboard, the Aboriginal plays for his land against 'a stacked deck' with the Preacherman, the Redcoat. Aboriginal people are so angry because it was not enough to take the land they took our culture too and misused it only to make more money.
