Billy Kenda is from Jay Creek in the West Macdonnell Ranges, his mothers’ country. His father was a Ngaatjatjarra man from Docker River.
Billy started painting in the Mwerre Anthurre Artists Studio, which was established in 2000 to encourage, nurture and support Aboriginal artists with disabilities, in 2004. He paints landscapes in a graphic style that are full of texture and show a strong sense of country.
From 2008 onward, Billy started adding trucks and cars to his paintings and then aeroplanes and helicopters.
