Story
This painting depicts designs associated with the travels of Kungka Kutjarra (Two Women) who visited a Rockhole site of Lulpinga, Peewee Dreaming during their travels north to Kintore. The two women were digging for the small animal Kuningka (Western Quoll). These animals usually live in burrows which were dug by other animals such as the Burrowing Bettong or Rabbits and occasionally in hollow logs. The lines through the work invoke the body painting for women’s ceremonies and more particularly represent spun hair- string, which is used to make belts worn by women during ceremonies associated with this Rockhole site.
