This painting depicts designs associated with the Seven Sisters Dreaming at Dale Creek near Warakuna, close by Giles Weather Station.
The roundels represent camp sites and some of the ‘U’ shapes are women of the Napaltjarri kinship subsection who are being persuade by a man of the Tjakamarra kinship subsection. The women travelled over quite a distance but managed to keep ahead of him.
The other ‘U’ shapes are groups of women who have been gathering kampurarrpa (desert raisin) and grinding it into a paste to form a type if damper which is cooked in the coals.Share
