Story
The concentric circles in this painting depict the underground burrows of a small marsupial mouse known to the Warlpiri as Jungunypa. The central concentric circle s represent the site of Mt Renne, west of Yuendumu and approximately 350 km north west of Alice Springs. The small circles are the different sites associated with this dreaming. The U-shapes are women of the Napangardi/Napanangka moiety, the custodians of this Dreaming. The arc shapes in each corner are the underground burrows of the mice.
The myriad of brightly coloured dots in the background depict the countryside in its full diversity of Spinifex grasses, trees, and rocky outcrops.”
