Maxine Taylor and Terry Brooks were the first appointed art coordinators in the community at Turkey Creek and established the Warmun art centre in the old post office building on the eastern side of the township.
Here they worked with a group of 6 old men and a small number of female elders until the art centre was incorporated in 1998. Taylor and Brooks then established their own Narrangunny Art Traders in Wyndham. These works were all created for them between 1997 and 2001.
