STORY
Elizabeth Marks was born at Papunya in 1959. She was raised by Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula as a result of her father passing away when she was young. She was married to Mick Namarari Tjapaltjarri and began painting after he passed away in 1998.
Elizabeth's paintings specifically incorporate aspects of the huge lightning storm and flash flooding that created the rock holes and creeks in her country. Her paintings are geometric clan patterns, that incorporate symbols representing the lightning, thunder, flooding, creeks and rock holes.
