STORY
Cook arrived in botany bay in 1770 but Tupaia couldnā€™t communicate with the Indigenous Gweagle peoples. There lied the conflict or collision of different cultures. Tupaia sketched the Gweagle goiong about their business in their canoes fishing. The male in end canoe was in charge of the hunt. In the bottom of the picture the artist is making reference to the marine life that was etched into the sand stone walls and platforms from these areas.
