Muntja Nungurrayi
1930 - 1997
Born c.1930 (though some sources say she was born as early as 1924), Muntja Nungurrayi lived most of her life in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. She was an important Tingari elder who passed on her significant tradional knowledge of women's ceremonies and dreamings through her meticulous and charged paintings. She passed away in 1997.
