Shane Pickett was born in 1957 in Ballardung Country in the south west of Western Australia. He was the foremost Nyoongar artist of his generation, combining a modern, abstract landscape-painting style with ancient spirituality. He has exhibited in every state and territory in Australia, as well as in the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia.
