STORY
This work is representational of the Bush Hen travelling through the artist's country looking for bush seeds that are scattered over the land as is illustrated by the fine dotting. At the centre of this painting is the special ceremonial site and waterhole at the junction of a dry river bed and several geological fault lines. Women hold ceremonies at this sacred site, which is west from Mosquito Bore. The Bush Hen Dreaming is her grandfather’s story. This country is known as Artenya.

The trail of the Bush Hen goes to Mosquito Bore and stops there. In the Dreaming story, the Bush Hen travels through the country looking for bush plums and bush tomatoes that bear a yellow fruit called Arkitjira.
