STORY
This painting depicts the site of Mamultjulka, an island in a freshwater lake to the northern side of Lake Mackay. In this place, a low fleshy shrub produces a small black seed which grows in abundance after the falling of rain. This seed is collected and ground into a paste and cooked in the coals making a type of bread. It was was eaten by the Tingari Men when they performed rituals in the area. The artist's father passed away this sacred ceremonial site.
