STORY
Bark 193 x 70 cm & Hollow Log 156 x 24 cmIrene Ngalinba is the daughter of the famed artist Jimmy Njiminjuma (1945 -2004), a seminal member of the contemporary Kuninjku painting movement. She lives with her extended family at Kurruldurl, an important place for members of the Kurulk clan that is associated with the crow totem ancestor called ā€�Djimarrā€™ which is often depicted in Ngalinbaā€™s recent paintings.Her first solo exhibition was at William Mora Gallery in 2006 and during the following year she was selected for the Xstrata Coal Emerging Artist Award held at the Queensland Art Gallery. Since that time her work has been included in numbers group and solo exhibitions.
