STORY
Golden Sands, Mandorah lies across the water from Fannie Bay and can be seen quite clearly with the naked eye.
Despite all the activity on the water with ships and boats, life continues to thrive below the water;
with its high fish diversity, dugongs, green turtles, saltwater crocodiles and sea grass meadows.
The tides are macro-tidal and the currents caused by these tides are complex and strong.
The Paint application in this work generates movement across the canvas creating these shifting tides. The saltwater crocodile, my totem lives here in these waters. The palette of Deep Ocean shades of Blues and Aqua Greens with hints of Yellow gliding along the canvas encourage the viewer to become part of the work
