STORY
The Torres Strait is a Magical Place. Movement, colour and texture play an important role in this work. Ivory black, Ultramarine blue, Prussian blue, yellow and Titanium white portray the maze of reefs and islands, strong tidal currents with narrow channels between Islands and reefs. Large submarine sand dunes migrate across the sea floor, housing the most extensive coral reefs and seagrass beds in the world. Crystal seas and Amazing skies. ā€�Skin / Tā€™ is a celebration of my family's totem, The Saltwater Crocodile and my personal view of the world. Even though I live in the Northern Territory, part of my heritage comes from the Torres Strait and creating this work is my way of representing my skins affiliations and my place there.
