STORY
Julie paints from her traditional cultural knowledge, her sweeping landscapes often depict the flora local to the Wutunugurra (Epenerra) region. Using a combination of dot-making and brushwork, Julie forms repetitive marks on her canvases, this rhythmic application of figures is combined with a distorted perspective to give a sense of the vastness of the landscape.
"Bush medicine seeds, when the fall on the ground, it's dry. They grow back on top of the hills, on top of the rocks. Little rocks, when seeds get dry they fall on the rocks". As described on Barkly Regional arts certificate
