During the Harvest festival and Diwali the Warli play an instrument called TARPA made from gourds. The young couples of the village form a ring by clasping each others hands. They dance in a circular motion around the Tarpa player, clockwise and anti clockwise, all night long, often producing a trance like state with high whistling and shouting to the drone of the high pitch Tarpa.
