This painting depict the story of the snake (wititj) who has laid her eggs in nests in long grass. The snake is used widely in Ramingining art as it is often referred to as a creation being who formed different impressions in the land. The eggs in this painting also represent rebirth, new life, and fresh beginnings.
This work, as part of Cooee’s Christmas show, is available for sale from 3pm 27th November.
