Story
This painting depicts some of Eubena’s traditional country located in the Great Sandy Desert, southwest o f Balgo. This country if found along the middle stretches of the Canning Stock Route, around Well 5. The majority of the painting shows the talis or sand dunes, which dominate the landscape of the area.
In the centre is shown the waniri, or rock hole of Kinyu, which is important for the dog dreaming Tjukurrpa (Dreaming). The smaller circle depicts a well and soakwater of the region. In the Tjukurrpa one old man lived here until some people arrived and attacked him with spears. He responded by throwing sacred objects made from hair back and yelling at them. The spirit dogs of Kinyu were crying for the old man speared by the intruders.
