STORY
In this painting the artist Dororthy Napangardi uses an ochre yellow/gold against a blue/black background to depict her country. As with all this artist's work, this painting revolves around the sacred site of Mina Mina, the land in the remote Tanami Desert, north of Lake Mackay, of which Dorothy is custodial owner which is made up of two enormous soakage areas and endless sandhills. Here women of the Napangardi and Napanangka kinship groups perform rituals of dance and song as part of their passing on of traditional knowledge related to the Jukurrpa (the Dreaming).
