STORY
This painting depicts elements associated with the Kunga Kutjarra (Two Women) Dreaming at Putjanya near Yuwalki, the artists' homeland. In the Dreamtime the Kunga Kutjarra were sitting at Putja, a rockhole in the Kintore region of the Northen Territory. They were passing the time by entertaining themselves with Mani Mani; a passtime associcated with women and girls in which patterns are drawn in the sand to illustrate a narrative. The narrative in this case was said to involve the 'Love-lives' of the Kunga Kutjarra.
