STORY
This painting tells the story of the teachers, and how the woman was given lore before giving men’s lore to men (Pulpit Rock Blackheath). The faces that can be seen in the rock are the faces of our old people, our teachers. They are the ones that teach us lore, that teach us stories like the one written in the stars above. Hidden behind the veil of vertical white lines expressing our spiritual connection to the sky father, concentric circles and converging lines represent the layers of Aboriginal Culture. The dark sky, the eons of generations that now inhabit the dreaming. This painting links those elements together in a contemporary and vibrant way. There is much hidden in this painting.
